The most important innovation is described in the second section, starting from the main complaint of the patient: the discovery of the “vital sensation,” which Sankaran is convinced can be found at all levels of a case (dreams, bodily sensations, emotions, and so on), and which expresses itself directly (for example, in the hand gestures). He gives seven levels of perception that can help us to orientate ourselves within a case.
